In today’s episode, I was joined by Hugo Tagholm who is Chief Executive of Surfers Against Sewage which is a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.
SAS, set up in 1990, are a grassroots movement that has grown into one of the UK’s most active and successful environmental charities.
Each year through their initiatives volunteers remove millions of pieces of plastic from hundreds of beaches across the country. SAS’s supporters also helped campaign for the plastic bag charge which has already taken out over 6 billion plastic bags from the environment!
There’s plenty to be inspired by in this episode.
